Friendship Works at Family Action

Friendship Works youth mentoring service at Family Action

Friendship Works provide long-term, high-quality mentoring to children and young people who have experienced early childhood trauma.

Many of the young people on our programme report improved confidence and self-esteem as a result of the support offered by a mentors as well having the opportunity to access new experiences that many cases wouldn’t be possible without the service.

Our mentors offer a consistent, stable and supportive experience to our young people , often resulting in life changing impacts for some of the most vulnerable children in London.

“As a result of the donation from the Morris Charitable Trust we’ve been able to fund 120 outings, equating to approximately 420 hours of one one-to-one mentoring support in Islington. This includes all activity and travel costs. Many of our young people have limited access to resources in their local community and across London. This donation will allow our young people to have new experiences, broaden their horizons and bring a sense of fun to their lives ,which is all to often lacking due to the adversity and challenges in their life.”
